Peter B’s Brewpub, Monterey’s original craft brewery, will be celebrating their platinum anniversary, this September 20th! In honor of this amazing milestone, Peter B’s will be celebrating all day long with 20% off food and $3 bottles of Peter B’s award-winning Dancing Goat Russian Imperial Espresso Stout. Now 20 years of success, just doesn’t happen by chance, it’s taken hard work, creativity and some of the best in the business to take Peter B’s from a start-up to one of the most successful and popular, independent brewpubs on the Central Coast! In addition, Peter B’s has been named “Best Happy Hour” and “Best Local Beer/Brewery” by Monterey County Weekly readers throughout its history, as well as having won numerous Gold Medals from the BTI for a variety of their original brews.

Carmel Brewing Co. and the Monterey Doubletree Hotel (now Portola Hotel & Spa) partner to open 150 seat brewpub and restaurant in the Portola Hotel that would also serve as a showcase tasting room for Carmel Brewing Co. Peter B’s Brewpub became the first restaurant in Monterey that allowed patrons to experience the brewing process firsthand, while dinning and socially engaging.

The Portola Hotel purchases the copper tank brewing system and assumes the control of the entire brewing operation.

Kevin Clark joins Julian Andrew Wyer and the brewing team as Assistant Brewer and then is promoted to Head Brewer in 2011, which also marks the year when the brewery began selling kegs of Peter B’s brews to the public.

The purchase of additional equipment takes place to expand the brewery and create a new cellar space to house seasonal ales and increase production allowing Peter B’s to double the yearly output and the debut of KRML’s Pub Talk at Peter B’s kicks off every Wednesday at 5pm with the Beer Geek and Beer Girl Geek, Chris Nelson and Merideth Canham-Nelson.

The brewery team begins bottling beer onsite and selling to restaurants and markets throughout Monterey County.

Debuted a brand new Barrel Room featuring a table seating 16, designed and crafted by local artisan, Todd Wilde and by the end of the year, Peter B’s is now producing 1,076 barrels of craft beer!

The brewery welcomes a new Head Brewer, Justin Rivard and celebrates the 15th Anniversary of Peter B’s Mug Club, established in July of 2001.
