The Outdoors Just Got a Little “Cooler” at Peter B’s

Guest Blog Post, Janine M. Chicourrat, General Manager, Portola Hotel & Spa

The Portola Hotel & Spa is already off to a busy start in 2016! With multiple renovations kicking off throughout the property, our team is working hard to add some fabulous new features not only to our guestrooms and main areas of the hotel, but the pet-friendly outdoor patio at our onsite brewery, Peter B’s Brewpub. Originally renovated in 2012, this area seats up to 40 guests along with boasting unique fire pit features.

Now just completed this past January 2016, the crew removed a water fountain, which in turns saves on energy (don’t’ forget, the Portola is a LEED® Certified, green property) with plans to add additional seating for guests. One of the reasons these changes were made, is that Peter B’s patio is one of its most popular gathering spots at the pub. In addition to our four fire pits, the patio area includes one HDTV facing the fire pits to catch your favorite sporting events, and of course a great view of our brewery operations.

In addition, the patio is the perfect area to enjoy the BEST Happy Hour in town, offered daily from 4:00-6:30pm and is home to local radio station, KRML’s live broadcast of “Pub Talk with the Beer Geek” from 5:00-6:00pm, every Wednesday.

Brewmaster, Kevin Clark adds, “I really enjoy the patio on Sunday morning. Grab an early lunch and a beer then go on a walk with your dog.” Kevin, we couldn’t agree more!
