Portola is creating an impressive, inviting sense of arrival with construction of a new $3.5 million plaza entrance and sculpted fountain currently underway. Additionally, the $6 million reimaged tree lined atrium lobby will feature extensive use of woods complimented by lighted pendants in the soaring 25-foot lobby ficus trees. In April 2017, the Portola will introduce a new modern bar for socializing; connecting open lobby seating in a unique ambience for farm to table food and craft beverage service. This gathering area is an ideal setting for cocktail parties, in addition to a new private dining and stately reception venue in The Club Room.

The $60 Million Renovation of the Monterey Conference Center
Slated for completion in Spring of 2017, the two level, state of the art Monterey Conference Center will offer 50,000+ square feet of meeting and event space and is on its way to becoming a U.S. Green Building Council LEED® Certified building. This $60 million renovation also includes: two ballrooms for exhibits, conferences, catered events and breakout rooms. Glass enclosed patios and terraces for welcome receptions will overlook downtown and feature state of the art technology.
